Britney rushed to hospital

Troubled pop star Britney Spears has been taken to hospital in an ambulance to “get help”.

The ambulance picked Spears up at her Studio City home shortly after 1:30 am (0930 GMT). It was escorted to the hospital by more than a dozen motorcycle officers, two police cruisers and two police helicopters.

Los Angeles police would not immediately confirm the report but one officer, who requested anonymity, said Spears was being taken to “get help”.

Celebrity gossip website TMZ.com reported Spears was rushed to UCLA Medical Center where she was to be placed on a 5150 hold, the involuntary confinement of a person deemed to be a danger to themselves or others.

It was the second time this month that Spears, 26, has been taken to hospital recently. Last month she was admitted to hospital following a row with ex-husband Kevin Federline over custody of their two children.

The unfolding drama follows warnings about her mental state by her manager and close friend.

Earlier this week Sam Lufti discussed the singer’s health problems during a phone call to television personality Barbara Walters, saying she was suffering from “mental issues” and had sought help from a psychiatrist for problems that are “treatable”.

A dishevelled and confused Spears was recently photographed crying and clutching her pet puppy on a pavement after an argument with Lufti.

It was the latest in a series of very public breakdowns by the former child star, who has spiralled out of control since her separation from husband with Kevin Federline last year.

The pair have been locked in a bitter custody dispute over Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. Spears is currently barred from seeing the boys and has also been ordered to undergo drug and alcohol counselling and parental coaching.

In recent weeks the singer has failed to appear at numerous family court hearing concerning the custody case, either staying away or arriving but then fleeing before entering the building.

Britney seeks help!

britneyspearsnipple_01.jpg

Barbara Walters says she has been contacted by Britney Spears‘ manager and “very good friend,” Sam Lutfi, who says the pop singer has seen a psychiatrist.

Lutfi told her the 26-year-old pop singer “is suffering from what he describes as mental issues which are treatable,” Walters said today on the American ABC’s The View talk show.

“He said that she has been to a psychiatrist and that she, I assume, is starting some kind of treatment,” said Walters, a co-host of the daytime show.

“She has been having mood swings. She’s been having trouble sleeping, and also she is in touch with her mother - ’cause we had heard she wasn’t - and her mother has been very supportive of whatever it is that Britney is going to do,” Walters said.

Lutfi has been staying with Spears constantly, “and he got in touch with us,” Walters said. “I can’t vouch for this, he seemed to be very knowledgeable and he certainly was very nice.”

Spears’ lawyer, Sorrell Trope, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment today. Spears’ spokeswoman at Jive Records, Gina Orr, didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

Spears has spiralled downward since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline in November 2006. Her bizarre public antics include shaving her head bald, attacking a car with an umbrella and bringing along a paparazzo pal on trips to a Los Angeles courthouse in her custody case with Federline.

The singer was taken to a Los Angeles hospital by paramedics earlier this month after police were called to her home because of a dispute involving her sons Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one. She has lost custody and visitation rights with the boys.

Spears reportedly has had a rocky relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears, whose book about raising her family in the spotlight was put on indefinite hold last month after younger daughter, Jamie Lynn, 16, announced that she is pregnant.

Stunning Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria has revealed she used to get bullied for being ugly when she was younger.
She says her sisters used to tease her about being the ‘ugly duckling’ of the family - but from the looks of these high school pics of Eva… she wasn’t even slightly un-hot!

“All my sisters were light blondes with hazel eyes,” Eva told a UK TV show recently. “They used to call me ugly duckling.

“I grew up without being beautiful so I kind of relied on my personality and my character. “I kind of developed a skill not to depend on anything superficial because I didn’t have anything superficial to depend on.

“I was the darkest one of my family. I was the only one with black hair and the only one with dark skin.”

To us, that reads “I was the only one predestined to be a smouldering brunette beauty.” Now Eva, we feel for you and all, but from the looks of your pics you had nothing to worry about beyond a group of bratty sisters!

In any event, she’s sure getting her revenge now - which sister is one of the faces of Revlon, eh? That ‘ugly duckling’ face sure is bringing home some bucks!

Tom Cruise & John Travolta conned by Heath Ledger dad imposter

An imposter claiming to be Heath Ledger’s dad fooled celebrities including Tom Cruise and John Travolta into consoling him in the wake of the actor’s death.

After Heath died on Tuesday, the man pretending to be Kim Ledger called the funeral home dealing with the body and persuaded them to make a book for him and his family at a luxury hotel in New York. The man also spoke to the Doctor Who performed the autopsy on Heath before turning his attention to Hollywood stars.

A source has revealed the man “had a couple of conversations” about the death with Tom Cruise and asked for emotional support from the star while he asked John Travolta to buy him a first class place ticket from Australia to Los Angeles and then onto New York.

John’s spokesperson confirmed the conversation, saying: “John spoke with the guy briefly before he realised he was an imposter. He did not make arrangements to buy him plane ticket.”

The man is also said to have called a third unidentified Hollywood star to get phone numbers for Heath’s former co-stars Mel Gibson and Christian Bale.

New York Police have said they’re investigating the hoax calls and the man will face charges of fraud and theft when caught.

Sean Young enters rehab after incident at DGA Awards

Sean Young has entered rehabilitation for alcohol abuse following a weekend outburst in which she was heckling from the audience at the Directors Guild of America awards.

The 48-year-old actress was escorted from the ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Century City Saturday night after sparring with Julian Schnabel, who was nominated for “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.”

“Actress Sean Young voluntarily admitted herself yesterday to a rehabilitation center for treatment related to alcoholism,” a statement from Insignia PR said Tuesday. “It is understood that Young has struggled against the disease for many years.”

At the DGAs, all of the film nominees get a chance to say a few words before the top prize is announced. Schnabel, in his trademark yellow-tinted glasses, was a bit slow to start, looking down at the podium and running his hands through his wild, curly hair.

That’s when Young could be heard throughout the room urging him to get on with it. Apparently rattled, Schnabel scanned the room and asked who said that, then spotted Young and suggested that she “have another cocktail.”

Then he suggested that she should finish his speech for him and started walking off the stage. Music began playing for his exit, but the audience urged him to stay and keep speaking, and he did. Young, meanwhile, was removed from the ballroom.

A call seeking comment from the Directors Guild was not immediately returned.

Joel and Ethan Coen were the winners for “No Country for Old Men.”

Young made her name in the 1980s with films like “Stripes,” “Blade Runner” and “No Way Out.” But she’s become more famous for some of her more bizarre behavior, including dressing up in a homemade cat suit in her quest to secure the role of Catwoman in the 1992 sequel “Batman Returns,” which went to Michelle Pfeiffer.

She also tried to crash the Vanity Fair Oscar party in 2006.

“It was degrading,” she said in an Entertainment Weekly article last year. “But when you have nothing to lose, it’s really not that big of a deal.”

Gwen Stefani pregnant with second baby

Pop diva Gwen Stefani and her rock-star husband Gavin Rossdale are expecting their second child, family members confirmed to US media on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old former No Doubt singer’s father-in-law Douglas Rossdale confirmed the pregnancy in comments to celebrity news outlet People, reported on the magazine’s website.

“They and the whole family are delighted,” Rossdale told People.

Representatives for Stefani were not immediately available for comment. Reports in British newspaper The Sun said Stefani was 13 weeks pregnant.

Stefani and former Bush frontman Rossdale married in London six years ago and already have one son, Kingston Rossdale, born in Los Angeles in May 2006.

California-born Stefani rose to prominence in 1995 with No Doubt’s “Tragic Kingdom,” one of the best-selling albums of the decade that included the hits “Just a Girl,” “Spiderwebs” and “Don’t Speak.”

Stefani’s first solo album, “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.,” was released in 2004, containing hits like “Rich Girl,” “Cool” and “Hollaback Girl.”

Cameron Diaz vs Eva Mendes in a farting contest

eva_mendes_nipslip.jpg

Eva Mendes has revealed she had a … bodily gas competition with friend Cameron Diaz.

Eva travelled to Nepal with Cameron while filming the now-defunct MTV travel-documentary series Trippin’ and the two women got competitive while living in close quarters.

Eva explained recently: “Cameron is a big old belcher, but I can’t belch.”

“One night I had a heavy dinner, so I combated her belching with something I could do.”

“We were in side-by-side beds, so it was her disgusting bodily function versus mine.”

“It was an Eva-Cameron fart-belch off.”
