Akon Apologizes
Rapper Akon has been under fire lately for bad concert behavior, but you can’t say he doesn’t at least feel bad about it. The “Smacked” singer has reportedly recorded a song to apologize for things he has done, as well as things he hasn’t even done yet. The song was leaked Wednesday on Ryan Seacreast’s KIIS-FM morning show and the TMZ website.
“Everything I do is affecting the people around me,” Akon said. In the new song, he apologizes to his mother for being a thief, his wife for the “wrong things” he’s done, and his sons for not always being there.
He also apologizes for the embarrassment he caused Gwen Stefani for losing one of their tour sponsors. After dancing sexually with a 14-year-old fan at a concert in Trinidad, Verizon dropped their sponsorship from the rapper’s tour with Gwen Stefani. Akon does not, however, take blame for doing the deed in the first place. He instead criticizes the club owners for allowing an underage girl into the 21+ venue.
Akon ends the song by reaching out to his fans: “I’m just a singer trying to entertain/ Because I love my fans I’ll take the blame”.
