Victoria Beckham to have dinner with Britney Spears

Victoria Beckham is set to have dinner with Britney Spears, according to British tabloid reports.

The former Spice Girl’s ex-choreographer Jamie King has reportedly agreed to take Beckham, and Spears - who is his new client - for a slap up meal at the Chateau Marmont hotel.

A source says, “Victoria knows everyone in Hollywood - except Britney.

“She was keen to meet her, so Jamie decided to invite them both to dinner.”

Victoria has previously said she’d hate to live her life “under the spotlight every day” like Circus singer Spears.

She told a British magazine in April last year, “I couldn’t ever live a life like Britney Spears, who is under the spotlight every day.

“I couldn’t do that. I would go stir crazy. I need my privacy with my husband and children otherwise I’d just go loopy.

“When we read magazines and there are so many celebrities going out doing whatever they’re doing and falling out of nightclubs. But David and I are quite boring. If people really knew the truth about us they wouldn’t care.”

Beckham’s join the Cruises for Thanksgiving Celebrations

Beckham's and Cruise

The Cruises were among the first to welcome the Beckham clan to America, but for more than five months the two families have not been photographed together.

But any rift between Hollywood’s biggest celebrity families appears to be healed as the couples celebrated Thanksgiving eve.

David and Victoria Beckham and their three sons were pictured with Tom Cruise and his older children Connor and Isabella.

Tom’s wife Katie Holmes and their two-year-old daughter Suri were absent from the gathering.

But after meeting Tom in downtown New York the Beckhams left their sons with a babysitter while they went to watch Katie in her hit Broadway play All My Sons.

Along the way David gallantly stepped in to help up a female photographer who had fallen over while walking backwards to take the couple’s photo.

Victoria, stylishly dressed in a close-fitting pencil-skirted dress, waited patiently as her husband assisted the woman.

Later, the whole clan - Katie included - headed off for dinner at Il Cantinori.

After initially being pictured constantly together - be it shopping, eating out or publicly supporting each other’s work - the relationship between the two families apparently soured.

This was rumoured to be because the Beckhams had refused to consider joining the Scientology religion - a subject close to Tom’s heart.

There were also reports Katie and Victoria were caught up in a feud over a Vogue front cover.

The fashionable friends apparently fell out after the former Dawson’s Creek actress became jealous after Posh was asked to appear on the front cover of the top magazine.

Victoria now calls hubby ‘D Beck’

Victoria Beckham has reportedly started calling her husband “D Beck” after his friend Snoop Dogg decided the footballer’s given name was dull.

A source revealed: “Snoop thought the name ‘David’ was a bit boring, and he wasn’t too impressed by ‘Becks’ either.”

“Now Posh is calling him ‘D Beck’ too.”

Victoria is said to have disapproved of David’s friendship with the rapper until she saw his reality TV show last year.

Spice Girls tour cancelled as Melanie Chisholm quits

The Spice Girls reunion tour will finish earlier than planned after the large amount of UK shows took their toll on the quintet.

A spokesperson for the group yesterday issued a statement explaining that the tour will finish on 26th February in Canada: “Sadly the tour needs to come to an end by the end of February due to family and personal commitments for Emma, Geri, Mel B, Mel C and Victoria.”

“It was announced in June that, as well as the Europe and North America dates, the girls planned to visit Australia, China, South Africa and Argentina.”

“But due to the phenomenal demand for tickets in the UK and US, and the tour’s massive logistics, it was impossible to fit in everything.”

But according to the Sun, the decision was made ultimately made by Melanie Chisholm. An inside source told the newspaper: “Geri and Victoria have been loving the attention and adulation the tour has been bringing the girls in the UK and North America.”

Mel B has really enjoyed being on stage and performing again. And Emma has found it hard with a young son but was prepared to carry on.”

“But Mel C is the one who always insisted the reunion should be only short-term. Now she wants to go back to doing her own thing.”

“Because they couldn’t all agree, the extra tour dates have been pulled. Touring has been harder on all the girls this time round. But all of them could have been persuaded to continue - apart from Mel C.”

Lily Allen not all about fame

Lily Allen has said she can’t understand Victoria Beckham’s constant desire to be photographed and covered in the media.

The ‘LDN’ singer said recently: “It does make me laugh to see pictures of Victoria Beckham on the front of a magazine.”

“I think, ‘You’re not promoting anything, you don’t need the money, so all it’s about is being famous’.”

“And I can never imagine my life being about being famous. I make music, that’s what I’m here for.”

Lily has previously criticised the Spice Girl for being a bad role model because she’s so thin and called the whole WAG look that Victoria helped cultivate, “horrendous“.

Shaggy criticises spice girl reunion

Reggae star Shaggy has revealed that he is not looking forward to the Spice Girls reunion tour.

The reformed girl band are kicking off a multimillion-pound world tour in December and will bring out a greatest hits album to mark the occasion.

The ‘It Wasn’t Me’ singer said: “I’m not looking forward to it. I didn’t look forward to the first one. I don’t see why I should look forward to the second one.”

He put forward his own theory about the decision to reunite the band, suggesting that Victoria Beckham wanted to give a helping hand to her “broke friends”.

He added: “When she married David Beckham she made a great career choice. I take my hat off to her, but I’m not looking forward to the shows.”

Emma Bunton, 31, known as Baby Spice during her days with the Spice Girls, and partner Jade Jones’s first baby was born at 11.12am at London’s private Portland Hospital.

“We just had a lovely baby boy,” a beaming Jones said outside the hospital.

“Emma is doing very well … She’s just bonding with baby. We’re over the moon.”

Jones said the first request the singer had following the birth was for Coca-Cola and flapjacks.

Bunton and Jones, a former member of 1990s boy band Damage, have been together for eight years.

Bunton is the latest member of Spice Girls, who announced in June they are reforming for a comeback tour, to give birth.

Mel B
